Join us for a service day at the Center for Great Apes in Wauchula!  Once we're done working, we will be given a tour of the facility (usually available only to paid members).

The event will run from 10am until 2pm.  Since it's a longer drive, members who participate will earn 5.5 hours of volunteer credit.

Things to Do Beforehand

• Fill out the waiver

• Bring a reusable water bottle (the facility has water coolers available for refilling your bottle) .  Only refillable or disposable water bottles are allowed!  The apes can recognize soda and gatorade bottles and will want it.
• Bring a packed lunch
• Sunblock, hats, and mosquito repellent are recommended. The center will provide work gloves, but you may want to bring your own. 
  

What to Wear: 

Details are still being worked out, but we expect to be doing landscaping, etc., so wear clothes you are OK getting dirty. 

• Dress modestly - the apes can be set off by clothing and the lack of coverage. The facility requires that shorts are at least half way down an individual's thighs and no tight tank tops showing midriffs or excessive cleavage. 
• Closed toed shoes are required and refrain from wearing black "Doc Marten" style boots, as these can also set some of the apes off.
